Centre Street Saves

Help Spur Investment in our Neighborhood and Reduce Energy Use

Hyde Jackson Square Main Street’s Centre Street Saves project aims to entice businesses to make improvements to reduce energy use and reduce energy costs. To accomplish this, we will gather energy use and building data on 75 businesses in the Hyde Square and Jackson Square neighborhoods of Jamaica Plain. We’ll need your help in this effort.

Volunteers on Centre Street Saves will survey business owners primarily along Centre Street between Jackson Square and Canary Square in Jamaica Plain. Each business survey is estimated to take between 15 and 30 minutes. Once the data has been collected and processed, a customized report will be developed for each business detailing how energy efficiency improvements can lead to costs savings and increased profits.

Whether you are a business owner, property owner, or resident this project will interest you. Cost savings due to energy retrofits translate to increased profits and business stability. Energy use reduction helps fight climate change and make us less reliant on fossil fuels.
